Pink has always been one of my favorite artists. I remember the first time I saw her “There You Go” music video back in the year 2000–I was in awe of her style and cool-girl attitude. Fast-forward to 12 years later and we’ve seen her morph in to a full-fledged rockstar right before our eyes, and now she’s the newest face of Cover Girl Cosmetics.

She wore a daring black Norma Kamili aztec cut-out dress paired with Alexander McQueen studded booties to her unveiling event at Shutters On The Beach in Santa Monica, California.

And, let’s talk about this hair! A lot of people slept on the fact that Pink came straight out of the gate with her tresses dyed to emulate her name. Her soft pink up-swept faux-hawk hairstyle is so appropriate for the occasion.

I remember reading one of Pink’s interviews in Cosmo magazine where she said that she rarely made the cover of magazines because people felt that she wasn’t pretty enough. (We all know that’s bogus, but sometimes the F&B industry can be extremely tainted by unrealistic standards!) I love the fact that she is the face of a cosmetics line called CoverGirl. I’m happy for her. She’s proving that having a tomboy swag doesn’t disqualify you as being beautiful. Doesn’t she look fab in her first official campaign photo, above?

The CoverGirl roster includes the likes of  Queen Latifah, Sofia Vergara, Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres, Drew Barrymore and others. Here’s what Pink said about her newest collaboration in a press release:

“Joining a group of women who have always inspired me — to laugh out loud, let my guard down, or play around with my beauty look — is such an honor,” the singer says in a release. “I have a lot to celebrate. I called my new album The Truth About Love, and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.”

Go Pink!

What do you think of Pink being newest face of CoverGirl; are you a fan?
