Last night I experienced all kinds of kicks, giggles and a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside while taking in all of the love and excitement that took place at the Inaugural Ball.

As I watched the 44th President of The United States Barack Obama (aka the POTUS) wrap his arms around his beautiful wife Michelle Obama’s (aka the FLOTUS) waist and sway to the sweet lyrics of Al Green’s classic, soulful song ‘Let’s Stay Together,” I couldn’t help but smile and sing along with Jennifer Hudson as she belted out the melodic tune.

Michelle looked stunning in a ruby-colored chiffon and velvet halter gown by Jason Wu. She accessorized with Jimmy Choo heels, and a Kimberly McDonald ring.

There was a lot of discussion and banter about her choice to wear another dress by Wu for the occasion . Her dress for the 2009 Inaugural Ball (in above photo) was created by the designer.

The FLOTUS is hands-down a fashion icon and she knows what she likes and looks good in. Jason Wu’s clearly a talented designer and he was able to capture Michelle’s essence in the form of this beautiful dress. They’re clearly a #winning team!

Here’s Jason Wu’s initial sketch of the dress that was released via Twitter last night. Look at the exquisite detail that went into creating this unforgettable garment for the FLOTUS. I absolutely adore everything about it!

What did you think about the Inaugural Ball? Are you as in love with Michelle Obama’s look as much as I am?

Ciao Bellas,
