I’m Obsessed With the Carol’s Daughter #BORNandMADE Campaign

Yesterday Carol’s Daughter launched a new social media campaign called Born and Made (#BORNandMADE). They partnered with I Am That Girl, an organization that empowers girls to love and respect themselves, each other and their communities.

The fun part about this campaign is that you can celebrate your value and worth as a woman or girl by creating a custom social media picture on the Born and Made website. I played around on the website (you can also do it from your mobile phone.) and had a blast creating cute memes that show why I’m proud of my origins and the qualities that truly make me who I am. While searching the #BORNandMADE hashtag, I was inspired by all of the women (and men) who are participating. Their submissions are touching, fun, quirky and inspiring. You’ve got to check them out– celebrities and popular brands are even participating!

Here’s what the company’s founder Lisa Price (@iamlisaprice) said about the campaign on the Carol’s Daughter Instagram page:

When I needed to come up with a name for our company I decided to come up with a list of things that I was and a list of things I wanted to become. I figured I would affirm something wonderful about myself or call into existence something yet to happen to me. So amongst the things that I was and am was Carol’s daughter, I was also Robert’s daughter, and at the time Hank’s secretary and Gordon’s girlfriend. I wanted to become Gordon’s wife so I didn’t want to affirm the girlfriend position so I picked “Carol’s daughter.” It was the one that felt the best, it was the one that made me smile, and that’s who I am.

It’s no secret that I love Carol’s Daughter. I’ve used products from the brand for years (Hair Milk is my jam!) and I’ve interviewed Lisa Price on multiple occasions for this blog and other pucblications. This has always been a company that I’ve adored and supported because they’ve always empowered women and girls to be the best versions of themselves whether it’s from pampering oneself with their healthy (and ah-maaaazing) hair and skin care products or scrolling through their Instagram page for a reminder that #UrAppreciated.
