Glamspiration: How Jonathan Adler’s Moto X Pure Edition Designs Inspired My Style Aesthetic

Let me start by spilling the tea on who the uber-talented furnishings and fashion designer Jonathan Adler is for those of you who may not be familiar with him. If you want to paint a picture of his personality and style, just think of the kind of person who coined the term “Happy Chic” and calls their company’s headquarters the Fantasy Factory.

Jonathan Adler has partnered with Motorola to design three limited-edition phone backs for the Moto X Pure Edition. The eye-catching pops of color and detailed designs immediately got my creative juices flowing. Initially, I was going to make this a fashion-only post, but since Beauty & the Beat is about style, beauty and yoga, I’ve decided to share how these designs inspired my style in each of these categories. Plus, fashionable tech is booming and I love sharing inspiring launches with my B&B friends!

#XOmotoX Fashion & Beauty Inspiration

The Half Circle design  is my favorite because of its posh-yet-playful design.

I was inspired by the phone’s color scheme and styled  a textured, white babydoll dress with a  pink blazer, bright blue suede pumps and a vintage silver wristlet. I wore minimal makeup but amped things up with a bold matte pink lipstick that perfectly matched my blazer.

My next look was inspired by the Honeycomb and Bridget designs.

I love leather and I love wearing all black and I also love beautifully printed textiles and this coat was the perfect layering piece to add eye-catching pizzazz to my look. Glowing makeup with burnt orange lips was my beauty look of choice. I threw on my favorite aviator sunglasses because I felt pretty fly. (No pun intended.)

Both of these designs have an art deco edge to them that embodies eccentricity and simplicity. I know this sounds crazy, but that’s what’s fun about these Jonathan Adler designs–he knows how to effortlessly merge pretty, edgy and classic styles.

All of the phone designs played a role in inspiring this look.

I’ve read articles where Jonathan says it’s important to incorporate thing that you love in your home decor and I totes think that applies to fashion and beauty too! While the color palette is pretty neutral with taupe and white hues, I added elements of what I love in the form of this sleeveless blazer and my snakeskin booties.

I usually keep things pretty simple with my style, but you know Jonathan doesn’t play it safe with his designs so I followed suit with my outfit! I threw on a layered herringbone necklace and added a pop of color with a deep plum lipstick.

If you follow this blog, then you know I’ve pretty much fallen in love with yoga! Well, I’m totally a girl who loves a pink yoga mat (I have three pink mats that you’ve probably seen all over this blog!), but I decided to spice things up with a new mat. I was inspired by the clean-yet-eye-catching designs by Jonathan Adler for the Moto X Pure Edition and when I laid eyes on this baby, I knew it had to be mine! I love how the mix of light pink, purple and blue shades in the mat’s abstract print complement each other.

I also bought some new workout gear with fun pops of color to match my new yoga mat! (Win-win situation, right?) Nama-slay, friends!
