Do y’all remember the scene from the movie Waiting to Exhale where Robin finally gets rid of her deadbeat boyfriend Troy in that epic balcony scene?
One of my favorite lines from that exchange is when she tells him to take his “leather-wearing in the summertime” self on about his business. I’ve always been tickled by the sight of him rocking a leather vest with no shirt underneath, thinking he was a fashion killa! This scene always made me think twice about wearing leather in warmer months, but lately I’ve been doing just that!
The Floridian in me loves to rock the occasional bikini top and skirt combo, so when I was digging through my closet for pieces to pair with my favorite neon yellow tweed jacket I decided to show a little skin with a Missguided bathing suit top and a leather midi skirt that I snagged from Zara. I threw on some of my favorite Sam Edelman sandals to finish the look. Definitely lots of layers, but I didn’t get hot!
I’m pretty obsessed with this neon jacket and I’ve been wearing this leather midi skirt like it’s the only thing hanging in my closet.
