I graduate from my Yoga Teacher Training this weekend and, oh what a journey it has been!
For the past 8 months, I’ve experienced doubt, fear, transcendental elation, confidence x 1000, oh-my-gosh-I’m-doing it moments and so much more! It has been quite the emotional rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Two years ago, I never would’ve thought I’d be transitioning from being a perpetual “future yogi” (according to my Instagram bio) to not only falling in love with the practice but also accomplishing the goal of finishing my 200 hour yoga teacher training.
I think about the times when I was intimidated by the powerful practices of yogis that I admired. Or times when I saw certain postures and thought “I could never do that.” (Guys, I’m doing them!!!)
I also remember walking through the doors of the Lotus Pond yoga studio for my first weekend of yoga teacher training and feeling underprepared and subpar compared to my peers. I even considered quitting.
Through all of the negative thoughts and doubt… I kept practicing and I kept showing up. This experience has taught me the power of shedding ego and being present. Sometimes, showing up is all that we can do and all that we need to do when defacing our doubts.
Of course, I didn’t make it through this experience alone. My tribe is the real MVP. Thanks to all of my followers, family and friends who have cheered me on along the way. Thanks for motivating me to show up!
I’m beyond thankful and elated to move into this next chapter of my yoga experience. Although, I will be certified to teach, I will forever be a student of this life-changing practice. the Beat Yoga adventured.
