I’ve never been the type of person to purchase skincare products from a social media ad, but that’s exactly how I discovered the Follain Skincare Starter Kit! While scrolling through my Facebook timeline, I saw an ad promoting the clean skincare starter kit and since taking care of my skin has become a huge focus of mine, I decided to give it a try.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Follain, here’s the tea on them: they’re a retailer that’s dedicated to curating clean beauty products. They even have a list of restricted ingredients for the products they carry. (Talk about practicing what you preach!) I’m definitely a new fan and follower of this retailer.

Here are my thoughts on the Follian Skincare Starter Kit.

The kit includes a cleanser, mineral mist, recovery cream, a hydration mask; here’s what I’ve experienced after my first week of use.

OSEA Ocean Cleanser

This was my first time using an algae-based cleanser and I’m glad I got to treat my skin to this goodness! This creamy, non-sudsy cleanser is a gift from the gawds! To use it, simply massage into damp skin. And rinse with warm water. According to the label, it detoxifies skin without disturbing its protective barrier becasu of the sea minerals and organic red algae in the formula.

Hannes Dottir Mineral Mist

OK, so for some reason I live for misting my skin! I usually use a b6 spray to give my skin a bit of a boost, so it was a plus to have a multivitamin option. This spray is so refreshing. It gives an instant glow and hydrates your skin without leaving a heavy sticky feeling.

The directions say to use this mist generously on cleansed skin and I took that memo literally because it’s almost gone after my first week of trying out this kit! My final verdict is…GET YOU SOME!

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

This. Is. My. Jam. This recovery cream is my favorite product from the collection because it feels good, smells good and leaves my skin looking good! I’ve been using it daily and have no complaints. I dab just a little bit all over my face and it has left my problem areas (like the corners of my nose) hydrated. It protects from free radicals, nourishes and soothes skin and an added-bonus is its fresh, spa-like smell that I love.

Farmaesthetics Herbal Hydration Mask

This mask is a unique gel that has anti-aging benefits. You only have to leave it on for five minutes and then you can go on with your day. I’ve only used it once as a weekly treatment, and I did so in the morning prior to applying my makeup. The results were so good—it dries with a supple, matte finish that is still a bit creamy to the touch and left my skin so soft. It definitely got my skin prep on-point for makeup application.

Additionally, the Follain Skincare Starter Kit contained a really cute pouch that I love because…a’int nobody got time for toxic people or skin!

Overall, I highly recommend this kit. Get it for $21 here.
