Katy Perry is totes one of my favorite chicks to follow in the wonderful world of F&B because of her quirky, unpredictable style. On Sunday the songstress showed off her new dark purple hair at the Coachella Festival. (The more I see and hear about how dope Coachella was this year, the more I wish I would’ve copped tickets to go!)
Anywho… seeing Katy’s departure from her sherbet-inspired hairstyles of the past was a breath of fresh air. She also got in on the 90’s grunge fashion trend (which I just have to try with my own girly twist!). She tweeted that her look was inpired by “hot topic meets Twilight.” She met up with her BFF Rihanna, and it looks like they had a ball.
I still think Lil Kim set the precedent for ladies rocking over-the-top colorful hair! She killed in in the “Crush On You” music video with all of those colorful wigs and wardrobe changes.

This style really works on Katy Perry – she’s a poop star and can pull it off. Altough I really think it looks dope I wouldn’t go for it – the fear of getting bored with it quickly and then opting for another colour and then another one and another one is just too big – so I’m staying with my brown hair…kudos to Katy tough!
