5 Fall Lipstick Shades Every Brown Girl Should Try

5 Fall Lipstick Shades Every Brown Girl Should Try

Fall is here and as the leaves change color and the style of clothing you wear changes, so should your makeup! One of the quickest ways to boost your glam is by experimenting with different lipstick hues. Here are some of my go-to lippie shades that brown girls should try this season!

1.You can never go wrong wit a red lip.

The ultimate I-know-I’m-cute-and-killing-it lipstick look is absolutely a red lip! My favorite shade at the moment is First Class  by Gold Label Cosmetics, I’m also wearing MAC’s Viva Glam Rihanna Frost  a lot these days!

2. Dark purple and berry shades are a must!

Vampy lips are always a look to try during the cooler months, and I enjoy vamping up my pout with deep purple lipstick. A go-to of mine is MAC’s Punk Couture and I also love MAC’s Instigator lipstick. Urban Decay’s Blackmail is amazing as well.

3. Nudes are a girl’s best friend.

Whether you’re going for a natural daytime look or you’re getting glam for a night out–a nude lip is the perfect makeup upgrade. Some of my favorite shades for brown girls are NYX Simply Nude Lip Cream in Sable and Liya Kedebe’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick by L’Oreal Paris (Hurry and grab yours! This is a limited-edition color that’s available in drugstores nationwide.)

4. Create your own lipstick cocktail!

As you see, I absolutely love purple lips! The color in the above photo is a lipstick cocktail that I doctored up. It is a mix of the shades Zi Se and 1978 from Gold Label Cosmetics. Sometimes getting the perfect lip color involves some mixology and creativity.

5. Add chocolate colors to the mix.

There’s something so beautiful about seeing sepia-hued lipstick paired with different shades of brown skin! Try Black Opal’s Color Splurge Lipstick in Bon Bon or take cues from other beauty bloggers and use the Jordana 12HR Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Tenacious Brown (worn as lipstick).
